Common watch timing issues include running slow, stopping intermittently, running fast, and sudden halt. If your watch is less than 2 years old, the problem may be caused by bumps and knocks. Otherwise, the balance wheel amplitude may be too low, gears may get stuck, or small parts may become loose. For watches worn over 2 years, the issue is usually caused by lack of maintenance. Dried oil inside the movement will block normal operation of components. Another common cause is magnetization. Professional inspection is required to find the exact fault. We recommend bringing your watch to our PIAGET repair center promptly. Delayed repair will lead to component abrasion and higher maintenance costs.

Water or dust entering the watch is usually caused by loose watch crystal, aging waterproof gaskets, loose case back, gaps from impact, or damage from pulling out the crown. Such damage must be handled quickly. Moisture and dust will erode the movement, raise repair expenses, shorten service life, and even render the movement irreparable. Please send your watch to the PIAGET repair center immediately once this problem appears.

If a watch frequently fogs up from water ingress and receives no maintenance, rust will gradually form inside the movement. Untreated rust will corrode small parts and eventually stop the watch completely. We recommend professional rust removal, cleaning and re-oiling at our repair center to avoid expensive component replacement. Full movement service includes: ① Full disassembly and functional inspection; ② Cleaning, lubrication, assembly and precision adjustment based on rust condition; ③ Replacing aged waterproof gaskets and damaged movement parts if needed.

Minor scratches: Scratches are unavoidable during daily wear. Light surface scratches can be polished at home using toothpaste and soft cloth. Deep scratches caused by sharp objects require professional polishing and refinishing. Watch polishing demands skilled craftsmanship. We suggest you choose an official professional repair center to achieve a flawless refinishing result.

Watches contain tiny precision components. Strong shock and collision may lead to multiple faults: cracked crystal, dented case, broken crown, loose or fallen hands, faded luminous material, deformed dial, and damaged movement components. If you lack professional experience, do not attempt self-repair. Please deliver the watch to the official PIAGET repair center for inspection. Improper operation will cause inaccurate timekeeping and extra faults.

1. Case & Bracelet: Avoid friction and collision with hard materials. Regular cleaning is required. Keep the watch away from seawater, perfume, shampoo, nail polish and other chemicals, which will corrode gold plating, metal surfaces and leather straps. 2. Watch Crystal: Three common materials are acrylic, mineral glass and sapphire crystal. Acrylic is scratch-prone but shock-resistant. Sapphire is highly wear-resistant yet brittle. Mineral glass sits between the two. Even sapphire crystal can be scratched by diamond, sandpaper and concrete dust.

Long-term neglect will cause lubricant to dry up and form sludge. Dry friction will wear down gears and lead to expensive part replacement. We recommend full movement service every 2 to 3 years to guarantee accurate timekeeping and extend the watch service life.

Professional polishing restores your PIAGET watch to brand-new condition. Watchmakers will fully disassemble the watch and polish every component. This process removes a thin layer of metal, so polishing should only be carried out when necessary. Case polishing: Hand polishing to recover original luster; white gold watches will receive rhodium plating for enhanced shine. Bracelet polishing: Metal straps and clasps are hand polished, and white gold items get rhodium finishing. Cleaning is mandatory before polishing to avoid scratches from dirt particles. Polishing techniques include satin brushing, laser treatment and diamond mirror finishing. Note that a watch can only be polished a limited number of times throughout its service life.

Dirty metal bracelets can be cleaned with a soft toothbrush and toothpaste, then rinsed, wiped and air-dried. Gold watches may discolor due to oxidation, which requires professional treatment at the PIAGET repair center. For gem-set watches, check diamond tightness regularly. Do not clean gem watches yourself. Full maintenance is recommended every 2 to 3 years, including waterproof part replacement, timing testing, movement cleaning and exterior care.

Complete maintenance covers all service steps: disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, testing, plus polishing and refinishing as required. This high-level service relies on skilled watchmakers. We suggest you select an official repair center. Improper polishing will cause permanent damage to the watch. Full service contents: 1. Full disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, assembly, timing calibration and function testing. 2. Repair or replace all worn or faulty movement components. 3. Replace crystal, crown, pushers, gaskets and quartz watch batteries. Special-shaped mineral glass and sapphire crystal are not included. 4. Restore water resistance for waterproof models. 5. Refinish case and bracelet. Two-tone, gold-plated and PVD-coated cases only receive cleaning without polishing.
